The Pharaoh Hound lineage can be traced to circa 3000 BC.  The Pharaoh Hound retains both his enthusiasm for the hunt and the distinctive blushing trait.  The Pharaoh's blush of happiness evokes amorous unity between himself and his admirer.  When excited or happy, the Pharaoh Hound's nose and ears become flushed with a deep rose color, and his amber eyes grow in intensity.  Having lived for centuries with civilized man, he is a natural companion.
